Representing the EIT Alumni Community, our Board is made up of four representatives who have been nominated by the Alumni Associations of the Innovation Communities. They are supported by an EIT representative to the Board, and an EIT Alumni Community Manager.
There is a strong consensus from each of the Alumni Associations that there is much to gain in fostering collaboration and aligning our complementary values to enhance the reach and scope of our Community.
Falko is a CommUnity Manager at EIT InnoEnergy, and was elected President of the EIT Alumni Board for the period 2017- 2018.
He is a graduate of the ENTECH European Master programme organised by EIT InnoEnergy, where he developed a passion for sustainability. Today he uses this passion to shape the future of EIT InnoEnergy's CommUnity, an inspiring network of game changers aiming to innovate the energy sector at all levels.
Falko is fascinated by multidisciplinary, multinational and multicultural challenges. He enjoys seeing strong bonds being created between people, busineses and opportunites, and strives to connect people for noble purposes.
As President, Falko is responsible for the strategic development of the EIT Alumni Community, coordinating the work and efficient conduct of the Board and representing the EIT Alumni Community to stakeholders.
Mark is the EIT Alumni Representative from Climate-KIC Alumni Association.
He was first introduced to the learning opportunities of EIT Climate-KIC in an Urban Transitions workshop, and in the PhD Catapult Summer School on Sustainable Production Systems.Such continuing education as offered by EIT Climate-KIC complements his doctoral research on sustainability management at the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, Italy, with focus on climate risks and adaptation of business enterprises at cluster scales — industrial areas and supply chains — within the context of an EU project under the LIFE Programme.
On a personal note, Mark's startup idea is a consultancy firm on climate adaptation and sustainable management of SMEs.
Mark contributes to the day-to-day affairs of EIT Alumni in terms of fostering collaboration, connecting people, and information exchange.
Jagadeesh is serving as a cross-KIC-manager in EIT Health. He finished his PhD recently in University of Heidelberg, Germany in understanding the mechanisms of cancer pain. He is a passionate scientist with an entrepreneur mindset.
He came into touch with EIT health, by attending a hackathon in 2017 in Heidelberg and won best patient centred innovation award. He also had a great opportunity to pitch his idea in a SHIP event.
As a cross-KIC-manager in EIT health, he is interested to learn about other Knowledge and Innovation Communitiess (KIC) of EIT and implement a synergistic action between KICs.
Marilu is the newly elected Vice-President of the EIT Raw Materials Alumni Community. A community which was only founded in June 2018.
After graduating in sustainable architecture, Marilu worked for international architecture firms as well as in the field of smart cities for Siemens. She then decided to work independently as a freelance designer (industrial and UX design) with the vision to design products that consider their environmental impact, contributing to a more circular economy. She also co-founded binee, an EIT Raw Materials supported start-up developing a motivational interface for people to recycle their electronic waste. Currently, Marilu is developing a refillable alternative to disposable plastic packaging.
Francesco is the Community Officer of the EIT Alumni Board for 2017 - 2018. He is also the President of the EIT Digital Alumni Board for the period 2017-2019.
Alongside his contributions to the EIT Alumni Community, Francesco is a young ICT professional working as a UX designer at EIT Digital, and President and co-founder of Speck&Tech, a tech community of startuppers, students and professionals based in Trento.
Francesco completed his EIT Digital Academy Master's double degree in Human Computer Interaction and Design, Innovation & Entrepreneurship in 2016. He has since been a very active member of the EIT Alumni Community as the former Marketing and Communications Officer on the EIT Digital Alumni Board, and organizer of the EIT Alumni Startup Days in 2015 & 2016.
As Community Officer, Francesco is responsible for the expansion and growth of the EIT Alumni Community and creating synergies between the Alumni Communities.
Laurent is the EIT Representative on the EIT Alumni Board, providing support and guidance.
Laurent joined the EIT as Entrepreneurship Officer in September 2013. He is mainly responsible for the EIT Knowledge & Innovation Commuities' (KICs') Entrepreneurship and Business Creation activities across EU-28, and also focuses on the EIT monitoring of KIC activites. Laurent also leads the EIT Women Leadership and Entrepreneurship activities, and as a member of the organising team of the EIT annual innovation festival, he is involved in the organisation of the annual EIT awards and Innovation Tour.
Laurent is a graduate from the INSEAD MBA programme and holds an MScEE from INSA Lyon, France. Before joining the EIT, Laurent worked for the French Ministry of Finance Trade Commissions in North America and ASia Pacific as head of IT, and for US MNCs in corporate business development roles. In the past, he's also advised internet start-ups and has been an active Angel Investor in San Francisco and Singapore.
